Andhra Pradesh, the fourth largest state of India is situated in Southeastern Coast of the country. It has many popular holy shrines, historical monuments & natural attractions.
Andhra Pradesh attracts thousands of pilgrims every year. The world famous religious centre, the Tirumala temple in Tirupati is situated here. Tirupati is known for Sri Venkateshwar swamy shrine which is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara.  Nagarjunakonda Island located near Nagurjana Sagar in Guntur district/ Nalgonda district is an ancient Buddhist site. It houses a Buddhist museum. 
Andhra Pradesh has the second longest coastline in India. It has many beautiful beaches which can charm the tourist with its scenic beauty.  The brilliant coastline of Visakhapatnam makes it beaches popular among beach lovers. Ramakrishna Beach is the most happening place in Visakhapatnam It is one of the crowd puller in the city as it has the Submarine Museum, Visakha Museum, Aquarium; etc .The Mypadu beach in Nellore district is a refreshing seashore destination.
The golden seashore, age old limestone caves at Borra, charming Araku Valley, hill resorts of Horsley Hills, waterfalls at Ettipotala, Kuntala and rich bio-diversity at Talakona are few of the natural attractions of the state. The Godavari & Krishna are the two major rivers of Andhra Pradesh.
Hyderabad is the capital & largest city of the state. Hyderabad, the pearl city , offers a attractive panorama of a very rich culture and past. It has a variety of tourist attractions; from heritage monuments such as Char minar to museums like Salar Jung & Nizam’s Silver Jubilee Museum , from lakes like Hussain sagar to parks  such as KBR National park, Nehru zoological park, etc. The mouth watering dish of the city, the Hyderabadi biryani is world famous.

    By Air
    Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, is the international airport in Hyderabad. The state is well connected by both domestic and international carriers. Other important airports are Visakhapatnam Airport, Vijayawada Airport, Rajahmundry Airport and Tirupati Airport.

    By Rail
    The state is well connected by the Indian railways. The important rail heads are at Secunderabad, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam City and Vijayawada. Vijayawada Railway Station is one of the busiest railway junctions in India. It is the 2nd largest & busiest Railway station in Asia.

    By Road
    The roadways link the sate to other major town and cities of India. The state owned public transport system Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) is in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the highest number of fleet of vehicles and the longest distance covered daily. Amongst the largest bus stands in Asia, Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (M.G.B.S) in Hyderabad and Nehru Bus stand in Vijayawada are counted. Hundreds of private operators also run buses linking important places of the state and the country.

    Andhra Pradesh boosts a long coastline of 974 km. It has two of the major ports of India at Visakhapatnam, the second largest port of India, and Kakinada and three minor ports at Machilipatnam, Krishnapatnam (Nellore) and Nizampatnam (Guntur)

    The main ethnic group of the state is the Telugu people who are mainly of Dravidian origin. The official language of the state is Tamil followed by Urdu. Other important languages spoken in Andhra Pradesh are Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi & Oriya.

    The state’s best known art is Kuchipudi, a popular classical dance form of India. Jaanapadam theenmar is a popular folk dance of the state. Andhra Pradesh is also home to world’s largest integrated film studio complex known as Ramoji Film City.

    Durgi stone craft, lacquered toys, Nirmal paintings, anakapalli articles ,redwood carvings, bidri-lead inlaid black metal trinklets Gadhwalk, Pochampalli and Dharmvaram silk saris are few of the popular handicrafts of the state.

    Andhra Pradesh cuisine is one of the spiciest cuisines of the country. Being the lead producer of red chilies and rice in India, their traditional dishes are dominantly rice based with generous use of hot spices making the food one of the richest and spiciest foods in the world. Both vegetarian and non vegetarian food (sea foot & meat) feature highly in their menus.

    Hyderabad, once ruled by Muslim Nizams, has Arab-Persian influence in their cuisine. It is considered to be the birthplace of biriyani,popularly known as Hyderabadi biriyani all over the country.

    The coastal region of the Andhra Pradesh is even more well versed with the varieties in sea food specially known for Koramenu kura , Chapala Pulusu, Bommidala pulusu, etc . Gongura pachadi is also a popular dish of the state.

    The sweet dishes loved by people of Andhra Pradesh are Kheer, Payasam, Bandar Laddu, Pootharekulu, Bobbattlu, Paalakova, Mamidi Tandra, Khaja, Sunnandalu, etc
