You can have a camel ride in the sand dunes desert, Cultural evening party with local dance and DJ party make this destination super amazing. Loving couples’ favourite boating on Gadisar Lake gives this destination 10 out of 10 marks and is always advisable to include this in your plan.

How To Reach Jaisalmer

# 03: Udaipur – The Lake City of Rajasthan

Lake City Udaipur
Lake City Udaipur

As a Travel Advisor – My viewpoint

Honestly, I never want to placing Udaipur city at number three; I consider it number one and want to place it at the top of the recommended list. The reason is, just like Jaipur’s connectivity that placed it at the top, Jaisalmer’s events placed it in second position. Therefore, I have placed Udaipur at number three. Otherwise, this is one of the best cities which should be at number one, so never miss to include this place, this city, in your Rajasthan Tour Package.

Mount Abu Nakki Lake

As a Travel Advisor – My viewpoint

Some people might wonder why I haven not placed Jodhpur or Bikaner in the number four spot on the list. But believe me, if you compare Mount Abu with Udaipur or Bikaner, there is simply no comparison. Mount Abu is the best place, as I have personally seen and felt. In my recommendation, it should definitely be above Jodhpur or Bikaner. Everyone may have their own opinion, so as an expert advisor, I would say if you have a little extra time, then add two extra nights to visiting Mount Abu. — a truly amazing place.

How To Reach Mount

  1. Airport: The nearest airport to Mount Abu is Maharana Pratap Airport in Udaipur (UDR). Mount Abu did not have any local Airport.

# 05: Jodhpur – The The Blue City of Rajasthan

Jodhpur

As a Travel Advisor – My viewpoint

The reason for placing Jodhpur at number five is that it is a complete heritage site. It has massive forts and palaces like Mehrangarh Fort and Umaid Bhawan Palace, making it truly a heritage destination. Unlike Jaisalmer with its DJ parties, colourful evenings, and folk dances, or Udaipur with its serene bit hill and lake atmosphere, Jodhpur is for true heritage lovers. It serves better as a midpoint when travelling from Jaisalmer to Udaipur. On the way, you can cover Ranakpur, Kumbhalgarh, and Haldighati an important points.

How To Reach Jodhpur

  1. Airport: Jodhpur Airport (JDH) has regular flights from major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore.

# 06: Bikaner – A Camel Country! of Rajasthan

Bikaner A Camel Country
Bikaner A Camel Country – Representation Image

As a Travel Advisor – My viewpoint

The reason for placing Bikaner at number 6 is that I primarily see it as a connecting point. The distance from Jaipur to Jaisalmer is over 550 kilometers, making Bikaner a useful stopover. If the distance were shorter, I probably would not give extra night in Bikaner. However, this does not mean that Bikaner has nothing to offer. It has the impressive Junagarh Fort, the Karni Mata Temple, the Camel Breeding Farm, and many other attractions. For me, it ranks number 6 on my list, but everyone has their own preferences. If you have a different view and think Bikaner should be ranked 2, 3, 4, or any other position, please comment below this post and mention your reasons.

How To Reach Bikaner

  1. Airport: The nearest airport to Bikaner is the Nal Airport (BKB), located about 15 kilometers away. However, this airport has limited connectivity,
  2. Railhead: Bikaner Junction and Lalgarh Junction are the two main railway stations in Bikaner. They are well-connected with several major cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Jodhpur and other cities.

Best Hotels in Bikaner

Bikaner offers excellent hotels for various budgets. Top choices include the luxurious Narendra Bhawan, the historic Laxmi Niwas Palace, Gaj Kesri, Hotel Heeralal, and Desert Wind, all providing exceptional comfort and hospitality.

  1. Narendra Bhawan Bikaner
  2. The Laxmi Niwas Palace

Top Places to Visit in Bikaner

Bikaner is not very big city, but if I still want to list some important places to visit, then, my top choice would be Junagarh Fort, followed by Karni Mata Temple and Gaj Kesari Palace, in my top favorites list. There are many other interesting places to visit besides these.

  1. Junagarh Fort
  2. Karni Mata Temple
  3. Gajner Palace
  4. Lalgarh Palace
  5. Bhandasar Jain Temple
  6. National Research Centre on Camel

# 07: Ranthambore National Park – A Tiger Reserve of Rajasthan

Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambore National Park : Image For Representation

As a Travel Advisor – My viewpoint

There is no doubt that Ranthambore should have been a bit higher on this list, but the reason I have placed it at number 7 is because I observed that more than 50% of tourists simply can not fit Ranthambore into their travel plans due to time limidation. However, it is a place that deserves to be explored more. It is incredibly beautiful, and you should definitely consider including it in your itinerary.

How To Reach Ranthambhore

# 08: Pushkar – Pilgrim’s Paradise of Rajasthan

Pushkar Camel Fair
Pushkar Camel Fair: Image For Representation Only

As a Travel Advisor – My viewpoint

Pushkar is a very small city, and its main city is Ajmer. In fact, you can call Pushkar a village rather than a city. Ajmer is the actual city, but Pushkar is famous mainly for its temples and lakes. The Pushkar Lake and Anasagar Sagar Lake makes it a unique destination, especially for foreigners. During the Camel Fair, it becomes even more special. The rest of the time, it is just a normal destination. That’s why I’ve placed it at number 7 on the list. We often use it as a connecting point when traveling from Udaipur to Jaipur or from Jaipur to Bikaner. It serves as a good midpoint for a break. Additionally, since it’s only a two to two-and-a-half-hour drive from Jaipur, if your flight arrives early in the morning and you need to head to Bikaner or Udaipur before continuing to onward, you can skip your Jaipur halt and stay in Ajmer or Pushkar instead.

How To Reach Pushkar

  1. Airport: The nearest airport to Pushkar is the Jaipur International Airport, approximately 150 kilometers away
  2. Railhead: The closest railway station to Pushkar is Ajmer Junction, about 15 kilometers away. Ajmer is well-connected to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Jaipur.

Important Notes From Author Desk

Dear Readers,

In this article, I have tried to cover all the important places that truly fall under the category of top Rajasthan tour destinations to visit. I have personally researched on Google to see which places can be considered for a tour in Rajasthan. Believe me, I noticed lists mentioning 48, 50, 101, and 67 places to visit in Rajasthan. It seemed like these all lists were created just to increase the number of content entries.

I have personally visited Rajasthan many times and have explored all the main destinations. Trust me, many of the places mentioned in those lists are not worth visiting from a tourist’s perspective; they are included just to inflate the numbers.

Only the main destinations are truly worth visiting. Some places like Eklingji Temple, Mehndipur Khatu Shyam, Jeen Mata Temple, Kaila Devi are good, but they cannot be considered as standalone top destinations. They are worth visiting if you are passing by, but some of these places are very niche and fall under the category of temple tours. Most tourists do not include temple tours in their regular itinerary; they usually plan separate tours for temples. Some other important places like Ranakpur Jain Temple, Kumbhalgarh, Chittourgarh, Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary etc. you can cover with your main tour on the way for more detail you can explore our all Rajasthan Tour Packages page.

However, if you feel that I have missed something or if there is something more that should be included, I would be very grateful if you could leave a comment and let me know what I should add.

And yes, I have not included unnecessary or unusual information just to increase the content length.
